Raindrop Therapy...Aromatherapy's Best Kept Secret
By Shoshana Roller, Reiki Master
Raindrop Therapy (RDT), defined, is a method of using Vita-
Flex, reflexology, massage techniques and nine essential oils
applied to the body to bring it into structural and electrical
alignment. Due to our individuality as human beings, results
from undergoing RDT can range from little to what would appear
as miraculous. The oils are dropped like litle drops of rain
from about six inches above the body...Hence the name.
A massage therapist friend of mine had observed a RDT
demonstration several months ago. A woman with severe scoliosis
was led into a room with about 30 massage therapists present. A
chiropractor drew a line along her spine with a grease pencil to
illustrate the curvature. The woman then received an abbreviated
(about 30 minutes in duration) RDT treatment. Following the treatment,
the woman stood up and another line was drawn along the spine.
According to my friend, the spine was significantly straighter
following the treatment. He said he wouldn't have believed it if he
hadn't seen it with his own eyes.
My own experience with it is a feeling of total relaxation. It
feels like a chiropractic adjustment without the chiropractor. Stress
and tension leaves my neck and shoulders, while my low back pain
totally disappears. It comes back somewhat after about 5 weeks. So, I
would imagine that a series of treatments might be necessary for me to
achieve more lasting results.
One does not need any special training in order to apply RDT.
A person need only study the video tape and read the instructions in
Dr. Young's book, Aromatherapy: The Essential Beginning. People who
are schooled in other healing arts such as Reiki or Massage will find
that these techniques definitely enhance the experience of Raindrop
Therapy. However, it's not necessary. So, I recommend the purchase the
Raindrop Therapy Kit and experiment with it. Teach it to your family
and friends.
I must caution you that sometimes the oils that are high in
phenols may initiate a burning sensation. This may be particularly
true for a young child, elderly person or someone with very fair or
sensitive skin. So, I would probably be very careful to not these use
those oils neet in such cases. In any case, keep a bottle of V-6
Mixing Oil handy for anyone who may feel irritated or too hot. The V-6
will usually cool down the back very quickly.
One thing that I found in my experience is that the intent of
the healer and the client are definitely key factors in the
results. The practitioner, in particular must be really focused
and present. Of course this is applicable for all forms of healing.
Raindrop Therapy is an innovative technique that can be learned by
anyone. However, I am a healer. From this perspective, I am finding
that this is a procedure that can be effectively used by massage
therapists and Reiki practitioners to enhance their practices and be
an addition to the services that they are already offering to their
clients.
It has been brought to my attention by some massage therapists,
that after many years of practice, they, too, are beginning to hurt
physically. So, this is a good technique for massage therapists to use
to bring an added dimension of value to their clients, without the
pain associated with application. By incorporating the procedure into
their practice, it could become a profitable business.

ADDENDUM:
Raindrop Therapy Tips
By Clarity Ann Martin
1. Both the client and the therapist should remove their jewelry.
2. Remember to trim your fingernails prior to doing Vita-Flex
Therapy. Also note that in some states it may be illegal to do
Vita-Flex therapy if you are not a licensed massage
therapist.
3. When working with people who have sensitive skin (such as
young children or elders) it may be preferable to dilute the
following oils: Oregano, Thyme, Birch and Peppermint. The
suggested dilution is 15 drops of essential oil to 1/2 ounce
of V6 (or any other good carrier oil).
4. If certain systems of the body need work, use applicable blends
or singles with the Vita-Flex technique on the spine. (If an
area turns red, these may be infected areas). By stimulating
the central nervous system, you have just given someone a
total treatment, affecting every system in the body, including
emotional releasing and support.
A. For arthritic conditions or deteriorated discs you may
use: 6 drops Birch, 3 drops Lemongrass, 4-5 drops
Marjoram, 4-5 drops Cypress, and 2 drops Peppermint.
B. If the person has digestive problems you may apply
Di-Tone to your palm and then to the 5th lumbar to
enhance digestion.
C. If the person has kidney or adrenal problems, such as
stress or fatigue, you may apply Endo-Flex to the palm
then Vita-Flex that area. You can determine the location
of the kidneys by drawing an imaginary line from elbow
to elbow. Two inches above this line is the location of
the kidneys.
D. Birch is for bone problems.
5. Allow the person to relax for quite awhile after applying the
oils. (allow 1 hour for applying the oils and at least 1/2 hour
afterwards for relaxation).
6. Let people know that they might detox after the treatment.
A skin eruption is entirely possible as the skin is the largest
excretory organ of the body. They should drink lots of water
to flush out the toxins.

Raindrop Therapy Testimonials
"Experiencing the Raindrop Therapy was one of the most relaxing
experiences of my life. I felt like I was floating on a featherbed
like a cloud. There was a temendous sense of peace and wholeness. An
actual alignment which was gentle and effortless took place in my left
leg. I felt immensely nurtured, loved and cared for."
Clarity Ann Martin - Reiki Master
"Sinking into deeper states of relaxation is easy while the
Raindrop Therapy is being applied. I especially enjoyed some
upperbody massage after the oils began to penetrate and bring
healing to my stiff back. After? I felt I had a new, fluid spine
and was walking on air, moving through liquid. Wonderful!!!"
Denise Aughtman - Massage Therapist
"Raindrop Therapy is the most unique approach to massage that I have
ever experienced for deep relaxation and release of tired and sore
muscles; especially in my back."
Kayt Cunningham - Massage Therapist
"I suffered a lower back injury at work five years ago and,
although I recieved regular chiropractic treatments for over two
years, my low back pain persisted. Five weeks ago I recieved a
Raindrop Therapy treatment and my low back pain has lessened to
the degree that most of the time it is non-existent. My back has
gone from being a source of pain and discomfort for me to being a
great source of strength and support for my body. I unequivocably
recommend a monthly Raindrop Therapy treatment for persons with back
problems...Say "good-bye" to your aching back and "welcome!" to
radiant health and vitality."

How To Beat The Time Trap...
The Business of Young Living Essential Oils
By Jim Lynn
(Part One of Three Installments)
Buying Back Time...
How much money are you worth an hour? I know each of us fully
believes we are worth much more than what we are actually paid. But
consider this...If you are a salaried employee, or receive an hourly
rate for each hour worked, your time is worth exactly the amount you
agreed to work for...and no more. The money we earn from this kind of
employment is referred to as Linear Income.
Now there is nothing wrong with having a linear income, it is most
honorable. People can earn good money by it. Hourly wages can run from
a few dollars to hundreds of dollars per hour. However, linear income
is limited to the number of hours worked, and only provides an income
when you work. In other words, when you stop work, it stops! So while
linear income may be the manner in which most Americans earn their pay
checks, it is also the main reason so many of us cannot afford to
retire.
According to a survey released in December of 1996 (sponsored by
Workplace Pulse), retirement incomes of workers in every age group
will fall far below their expectations. Workplace Pulse estimated
workers who are 60 and plan to retire at 65 would need $353,324 in
total savings, including Social Security, to receive an annual
retirement income of $26,256. A worker who is now 30 would need
$1,145,972 at age 65 to meet the same expectations.
The report said 30 year-old workers would need to save $2,423 each
month to achieve the same retirement income of $26,256 in 1996
dollars. At the same time, a 60 year-old worker with $140,000 already
saved would need to put away an additional $2,325 a month to retire at
65 on a $26, 256 yearly income. But the survey found the average
worker aged 45 to 64 is saving only $2,529 a year.
To make up lost ground, more and more bread winners are
turning to something called Time Leveraging to create long term
residual income. With time leveraging, there is no hourly limit
placed on your worth, and money continues to come to you whether
you work or not.
The difference between linear income and residual income is
that with residual income, your productive time is leveraged.
That is, your time spent at work becomes increasingly worth more
and more. So if time is worth money, leveraged time has no upper
limit of its worth. How much worth? Well, Of the over 500,000
millionaires in the U.S.A., 20% of them have become millionaires
(within the past three years) by leveraging their time...And did
it using something called Referral Based marketing.
(to be continued...)

This is the first segment of a three part series that deals with
the Business of Young Living Essential Oils. Part Two (Referral

Publisher's Note:
Essential oils are the missing link in mankind's effort to live a
healthy and disease free life. As people discover these wonderful oils
for the first time, and experience how the mind and body responds to
them, we can expect a paradigm shift in our views towards medicine,
health and healing.
This ends Essential Oils Online for January, 1997.
